Reef-Friendly Sunscreens: Save The Oceans

by

Below the ocean’s surface is a thriving ecosystem, filled with corals, marine mammals and fish to name a few. This past April, I finally lived out one of my dreams which was to see a Sea Turtle in its natural habitat. Going off on a bit of a tangent, I’ve spent the last five summers in various parts of Italy and Greece hoping to see a real-life Sea Turtle with no luck. That being said, after seeing and swimming with more than a handful of Sea Turtles from arm’s distance to swimming with blue whale sharks to boot this topic I’m about to share with you has become especially important to me and I hope it does for you too.

Part 1 Getting Off Birth Control: Holistic Expert Advice

by

As of  April, I decided to go off birth control for a number of reasons.  One of the obvious reasons being, we want to get pregnant and the other was that I wanted to stop pumping myself with hormone controlled meds. There isn’t a whole lot of information out there from a Holistic or Naturopathic standpoint (they work from the angle of  Mind, Body & Spirit towards the journey to wellness), so I thought it would be helpful to share what I learnt from Maddison Leigh.

My Wedding Planning Tips

Our dreamy wedding was inspired by the neutral and also rustic saturated tones of Italy, dancing under the lights and stars in a small piazza and the blossoming of a sweet romance. The change of seasons always brings such a breath of fresh air and inspiration and we wanted to incorporate our love story (how we met), our relationship & travels and style to be reflected in our color palettes, decor, and ambiance.

Cefalù Sicily Travel Guide: What to Eat & Where to Stay

Hey Beauties, it’s my first try at vlogging, so sorry in advance if it was underwhelming lol! Also, how HUGE are my sunglasses ahaha! They didn’t seem that big at the time, but I still love them lol. It certainly didn’t follow the typical play by play of the standard vlog, but I didn’t want to skimp out on sharing how wonderful of an experience it was for us! We’re almost midway through January and I thought this might help inspire your upcoming travels and keep you going through the rest of your snowy and cold winters (most of my readers are from North America).

Current Skincare Favorites

Hey girlfriends, today I’m giving you the lowdown on my favorite skincare products.  In the video below I show you how I use each product, but here you’ll find the details on why I’m crushing on them.  In general, I’d say that my skin type is normal to dry and that I have an even complexion.  I’ve been noticing that my skin hasn’t been as radiant, (more like dull), my fine lines are more evident to me than before and that I’ve been needing to use more makeup in order to compensate for the lack of ‘glow’.  Also, now that I’ve entered the 30’s (OH MY GAWD) I want to take better care of my skin.  I’ve been more conscious of ingredients and (potentially) harmful chemicals that are used in the makeup and in the skincare industry that I found it really difficult to commit to making an ‘investment’ (cause the good stuff ain’t cheap).

Floral Summer Dress Season

I’m a girly girl at heart and as much as I get down at the gym, rockin’ my sweat headbands and comfy activewear around town, I love getting dressed up!  This floral dress is so light and effortless to wear, and can easily transition from a casual day look to an evening date night on the town.  Accessorize with white kicks & a jean jacket, wedges & dangling earrings or heels & neutral coloured bracelets depending on the situation.

by

Once upon a time, I thought the closest I’d ever get to experiencing fairy tales and castles would be through the stories I read and movies I saw as a child. Little did I know that moving to Italy, would bring me that much closer to fulfilling my dreams of sleeping in a castle and feeling like a princess (even if it was just for the weekend). Here’s my ultimate guide to Italian Castles

Walks of Italy Tour: Cook, Dine & Drink Wine

In September 2013, I embarked on my first international solo trip to Rome. Here’s my review of the Walks of Italy tour “Cook, Dine & Drink Wine with a Local Chef” (a Cooking Day in Rome). If you’re interested in this tour you’ll need to set aside a few hours and I’d highly recommend using public transit..

And it wasn’t just a typical waiting-around-for-fittings affair, either. Instead, call it the ultimate playground of all casting calls, starting from the outside, where Phil Oh lensed the grand entrances of the insouciant-cool models-off-duty en masse, while photographer Sofia Malamute created editorial-worthy portraits of several of the stunners on the sidewalks.
